Our first safari outing was to Bhandardara. It is a beautiful place north east of Pune, full of natural scenery. The place is know for Wilson dam- over a century old man made structure forming Arthur lake, surrounded by Sahyadri hills. We went there in March, 09. We took Pune Nashik Highway (NH50) upto Ale phata and from there left on to another highway via Brahmanwada etc. The road from Brahmanwada to Akole, a small town enrout was broken, hilly and without tar. However thanks to the grip of Ceat Milaze it held its ground and we got a smooth and enjoyable ride even in the rough terrain
